Preparation is half the protection
Furniture rarely takes damage from the storage itself, but from poor preparation. Upholstered furniture needs breathable covers rather than plastic film, under which moisture gathers. Mattresses belong in protective sleeves and should lie flat, not on edge.
Wooden furniture is not stacked directly on top of itself but separated with interleaving. Appliances such as fridges have to be defrosted and dry beforehand, otherwise mould forms inside.

To dismantle or not
Dismantled furniture needs considerably less volume, and volume is the price factor. Beds, wardrobes and shelving are therefore almost always worth taking apart when the storage period is long.
We dismantle on request, pack screws and fittings labelled with the piece they belong to and reassemble on return delivery. For antique pieces we advise against it, see antique transport.
A recorded inventory
As the goods go into storage we record what goes in. It sounds obvious, but after several months it is decisive: you know what is there, and we find it again without emptying everything out.
For longer storage it is worth ordering the inventory by priority, so that whatever might be needed sooner sits at the front. Tell us that when the goods go in.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to prepare the furniture myself?
No. We bring the covers and protective sleeves and prepare everything on site. Only fridges and freezers should be defrosted and dried beforehand.
Is furniture dismantled?
On request, and for longer storage it is worth it because of the volume. Screws and fittings are packed labelled with the piece they belong to.
Can I add more to storage later?
Yes. The space is then adjusted; just let us know beforehand.
How quickly can you deliver back?
As a rule within a few days of you telling us. Around the end of the month, allow a little more lead time.
