The problem is the point load
A safe of 600 kilograms on four small feet creates a point load that some floors cannot take, particularly timber floors in older buildings and some raised floors in office blocks.
So before the transport we settle the load capacity where it will stand, with the site manager or the property management where necessary. And the route to it: lift capacity, door widths, thresholds and floor coverings that need protecting.
How we move it
Depending on the weight and the route we use heavy duty dollies, roller sets, lifting cushions or stair climbers. Delicate floors we cover with load spreading boards, so that the point load does not act directly on the surface.
A heavy safe only goes down stairs with special equipment and enough people. Where that is not possible, we look at the route via the furniture lift, provided its load capacity is sufficient.
Discretion
A safe transport reveals where something is kept. We treat such jobs accordingly: no conspicuous announcement, no conversations about it, the timing set to suit you.
On corporate jobs we usually fit the safe transport into the company relocation or the government move and coordinate it with whoever is responsible for your security.

Frequently asked questions
Up to what weight do you move safes?
That depends less on the safe than on the route. Give us the weight, the dimensions and the storeys and we will say whether and how it can be done, or when a crane is the better answer.
Do you check the load capacity of the floor?
We establish it, with the property management or the site manager where needed. The structural assessment itself belongs to the qualified professional responsible for it.
Do you open or install safes?
No. We transport and place them. Opening, anchoring and lock technology belong to a specialist safe company.
Is the contents transported with it?
We recommend emptying the safe beforehand, because of the weight and because the contents are not part of our transport insurance.
