Learn moreOur special transports
What these transports have in common is that they cannot be improvised. Weight, centre of gravity, fragility and access have to be known beforehand, so that the equipment and the size of the team are right.

Why we look at it beforehand
On special transports the route decides the job, not the distance. A grand piano that has to come down a winding staircase in the Lucerne old town is a different job from the same grand piano on the ground floor of a new building in Root.
So we settle beforehand: the storey, the width of the stairs, the turning radii, the door dimensions, the size and load capacity of the lift, the distance to the vehicle. From that follows whether it is carried, whether the furniture lift comes and how many people are needed.

Insurance and value
Special transports are insured, but the value has to be settled beforehand. For instruments tell us the make, model and year; for art and antiques an existing valuation or insurance policy.
That is not a formality. Without an agreed value, only the flat rate liability applies in the event of damage, and for valuable pieces that regularly sits below what they are actually worth.
How a special transport runs
-
Enquiry
You describe the object and give us the storey and the access at both addresses.
-
Assessment
We check the route, settle the insured value and plan the equipment and the team.
-
Transport
We secure, carry or lift with the furniture lift and drive with low vibration.
-
Setting up
At the destination we set up and reassemble whatever was taken apart.
Frequently asked questions
Can a special transport be part of a move?
Yes, and that is the most common case. We then plan the piece as its own step with its own time window inside the move.
Do you transport single objects without a move?
Yes. On purchase, on sale, or when a piece changes room within the same house.
What if the stairwell is too narrow?
Then the furniture lift comes and the object goes over the balcony or through the window. That is often gentler than the route through the house.
How is the insured value set?
Together, before the transport, on the basis of your details or an existing valuation. It is recorded in writing in the quote.
