Our services in detail

Our furniture lift services

With us a furniture lift is never merely a hired machine: setting up, securing and operating it belong to it.

Exterior furniture lift

The exterior furniture lift goes in over the balcony or through the window, the answer to a tight stairwell.

Up to 25 metres

The furniture lift up to 25 metres reaches upper floors safely as well.

With an operator

The furniture lift with an operator comes with experienced staff.

During a move

As part of a move we plan the lift into the time window.

For instruments

For pianos and grand pianos the lift is often the only safe route.

For clearances

In an attic clearance with a large volume the lift saves half a day of carrying.

When a furniture lift pays off

Rule of thumb: from about half a day of pure carrying time, the lift is cheaper than extra staff. On top of that comes what is hard to put a figure on: damage to furniture, walls and the stairwell happens considerably more often when things are carried round tight corners.

In older Lucerne buildings with winding staircases the lift is often not the cheaper option but the only one. We tell you at the assessment which case applies.

Even where space is tight, the lift reaches the facade. We settle the footing beforehand.

Footing and permit

A furniture lift needs level, load bearing ground and a clear line of sight to the window or the balcony. Where there is a slope, hedges, canopies or parked vehicles in the way, we come and look beforehand.

If the lift stands on public ground such as a road, a pavement or a parking bay, the municipality usually requires a permit. In the city of Lucerne that is the rule. We arrange it in good time.

How a furniture lift job runs

  1. Enquiry

You give us the address, the storey and what is to be moved.

  2. Assessment

We check the footing and the access and arrange the permit.

  3. The job

We set up, cordon off the area and operate the lift.

  4. Dismantling

Afterwards we dismantle and leave the space as we found it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I hire the furniture lift without an operator?

No. Setting up, securing and operating it take experience; a badly braced lift is a real danger. Our staff always come with it.

Up to which floor does the lift reach?

Up to 25 metres, roughly the seventh to eighth upper floor. What also decides it is whether there is enough level standing space below.

Do I need a permit?

If the lift stands on public ground, as a rule yes. In the city of Lucerne almost always. We arrange it for you.

Is the lift worth it for a single piece of furniture?

Often yes, especially for a sofa, a wardrobe or a piano from an upper floor. It is faster than four people carrying.
